         Pronouns :


Pronouns: is a word that place of nouns or nouns phrase it is therefore used instead of nouns or nouns phrase to prevent repetition

We can distinguish nine kinds of pronouns 


 1. Person pronouns 

2.possessive pronouns 

3. Reciprocal pronouns 

4. Reflexive pronouns 

5.demostrative pronouns 

6.Relative pronoun 

7.distributive pronouns 


                    ( 1)  Person pronouns 

Is used to refer to back to some one or something that already have been mentioned 
Person pronouns is divide into

                      subject pronoun

Example of sentence with subject pronoun and object pronouns 
Singular form 

1. I have  taught English in this university for seven years mostly of students appreciate me

2.you speak very fast. None of us can keep up with you
3.he work hard that's why his boss likes him

4.she was not ready when l went to pick her
                

                       Plural form 

  1.we have taught English in this university for seven years mostly of students appreciate us

2.you speak very fast.none of us Keep up with you 

3.they work hard. That's why their boss like him

4.they don't work properly.can help me repair them

              Possessive pronoun 


These are refer to a specific person or things) it know is antecedent belong to person or some time 
Belong to animal or animal's or things 


Possessive pronoun : are ;   mine ,yours, his ,her,ours, their 

   Example of possessive pronoun 

1.These are my book,they are really mine

2.do not take this pen , just use your

3.these are ours pen ,find their 

4.John and Peter found their clothes 
 
5. Agnes could not find their 
   


                Reciprocal pronouns 

Reciprocal pronouns: is used to convey their idea 
Reciprocity or two way relationship 
Reciprocal pronouns are each, One another 

                  Example of reciprocal pronouns 

                            


1. We must try to help each other 
2.they don't love each other 
3.peter and David seem to hate each other 
4.two family are always criticizing each other 
5.the members of family blame one another for their mother's death 
6.look at those kids they are beating each other 
                    


              Reflective pronouns 


 Reflective pronouns that end in self or selves and refer back to nouns or pronouns that has occurred in the same sentence the reflective pronouns:"

 A). myself        




B)yourself, 

C)himself, 

d)herself,

f) ourselves 

g)yourself 

h)themselves 

                 Some example sentence 


1.This morning, l cut myself shaving 
2.the children washed themselves and then went straight to bed
3.pay attention with that knife ,else you will hurt
4.karake has cured himself of his bad habit 





                 Point to remember on this pronouns 


- reflective pronouns are sometimes for emphasis as in 

The Master him self punished the boys

The movie itself was not interested 

The major him self promised to support our club

- reflective pronouns can also be used to indicate

 that something has been done by some one by

 his/her own effort without any help,as in :

I did assignment myself ( i.e no body help me do it

Eric build house himself




                       Demonstrative pronouns 

Demonstrative pronouns: is used show, indicate things or people in relationships to the speakers or writer in place or in time 

Demonstrative pronouns; are

These are used to refer to people or things without being specific as to exactly who or what they are. 
They include: 


Every body 

Every one 

Any body 

Every thing 

Any one

Someone 

 Something 

 No one 

No body 

Nothing,as in every one is to make a contribution 

Anyone can enter 

No body cares about us something will be done 
   


          Interrogative pronouns 



These are pronouns used to asked questions, as in 


Who ask you to do that?

Who broke the vase 

What did they say 

What happen next 

Who are those books 

Whose is that old car 

To whom was that remark addressed 


To whom did you talk to?

Which of my son insulted you
